Water — Finding Self-Love
Water is all about digging deep and learning who you are. We do this by diving into your deepest wounds and releasing the pain that you’ve stored across your life time. Of all the elements, this work is some of the most powerful. It asks you be vulnerable and not hold back or shy away from the unknown. Together we will uncover what’s been buried under years of not feeling good enough.
But what are these wounds? Buried under any emotional wounding is the belief, “it was my fault.” We all go through life believing we are the ones in control. And when life throws events at us that are beyond our comprehension, we cope by blaming ourselves. In many ways, this becomes the basis of our identity. We learn who are by believing that we are limited, flawed, and unworthy of love.
Coaching through the element of water involves exploring your life story through a kind of narrative therapy. We’ll tell the story of your life and integrate trauma into that narrative so that you can deepen your awareness of your own strength and resilience. It also involves a process of energetic body-work where we will explore where in your body you’ve stored emotional traumas and release them.
Foundational Reading
This book has been a great source of knowledge for me regarding narrative therapy. The books talks about the importance of integrating trauma into the narrative of one’s life story. The books also stresses the use of somatic techniques to access trauma which is stored in the body. These strategies helped me heal from my own trauma, and have become the foundation of my understanding of coaching through the element of water.
